A church
Located in the Italian villa of Riola, roughly an hour away by train from Bologna. A carved stone reads in the main entrance: “Alvar Aalto, architect, ideator of this church.” Finished in 1978, the contrast between the Tuscany landscape and the bold concrete shapes that arise an eerie, spiritual feeling is what makes the building unique.
